The general guidelines before one start with exercise ball workouts include

  1. Warming up:  Thorough warm up is required before one start working with exercise ball.
  2. There should be plenty of space to stretch out and a competent training guide should accompany  you to  help out the exercise regimes.
  3. Medicinal ball workouts should be completed while still fresh before one begins to workout  heavy aerobic and anaerobic training.
  4. Focus should be on the speed of the technique and one should not sacrifice the technique.
  5. Don’t choose a heavy ball which will slow down the exercise rate.
  6. Complete multiple sets of various exercises to improve the performance.
  7. Don’t extend the spine too far when throwing from behind.
