The major benefits of using exercise ball regimes is that it helps to work out the major muscles of the body of the abdomen and the back muscles which carry much of the body weight.  The major reason why these muscles get worked out extensively is that the body tries to balances while exercising using these balls and when that happens it is the muscles of the back and the abdomen that comes into play to  balance the body .This results in greater activity for these type of muscles thereby benefiting them.

One should be careful not to over work these muscles as over working of these muscles can lead to muscle destruction or atropication.  The usage of these balls as furniture to sit is also made use of by some people as this will allow to give a balanced posture and thereby a workout.   These exercise balls have also been used at the times of child birth to ease the coming of the baby from the vagina. At such times these balls are also called as birth balls.  The rocking of body while sitting on this will definitely help the women at the times of child birth such that the contraction will be easier.
